Silver Scorcher
Some time ago, I purchased 2 original, unrestored Sand Scorchers on ebay (both from the UK). Decided to build a Shelf Queen and a Runner. The Shelfer is still in progress (needs the body restored and painted).
The runner is finished and the result is what you see here.
After tearing the original car apart I carefully cleaned everything down to nuts and bolts. Polished the aluminium parts, and sand blasted the gear box and arms. Broken and worn parts were replaced by new ones. Nearly no re-re parts were used except rubbers. Stickers are repros from pandagfx. Highlights include aluminium stinger exhaust, aluminium rear guard, alloy bumper, chromed wheels and a stainless-steel screw set.
The body is a Baja lexan shell from Kamtec. The paint job on the body became my training lessons to get some experience before i go to paint the body of my Golf Racing Gr. 2 restoration project.
I am pretty happy with the result and I can't wait to enjoy some vintage racing!

Thanks for your comments!
The colors really work well. I was not sure about the silver in the beginning. But now I feel the result is pretty nice.
