This is my Mk1 Hot Shot 1.
The car is totally restored with almost all new parts.
As you can see it has the infamous weak front bumper Mk1 and also the rear lower arms are Mk1. You can see the different weak front hub carriers with three holes.
The wheels adapters are unknown aluminum cnc made.
The body is still new in box, I'll probably buy a re-re one and the original will stay NIB forever. I also have NIP gold wheels and tires. Crash Cramer has a funny orange/yellow suit. Hope you like my HS1.

Hot Shot I Mk1 Mk1 Chassis, no radio door. Beautiful even without the body. 2 Tail view. Totally new underside. Crash Cramer with hipster suit Seems better in live Unknow CNC Mk1 rear arms Mk1 infamous bumper

Nice mk1. Are you going to complete the car. FYI the rear arms are hotshot II.

I own everything to complete the car, NIB body, roof and decals, original gold plated wheels and NIP tires. The rear arms are HS Mk1, you can see the difference with HS Mk2 and Super Shot. These lower arms cannot mount the HP Suspension Kit lower damper stay. The shape of the arm is different.

@ Rosey: you are right about the 3 holes on steering arms. I presume the steering arms, yes.
About the rear arms: Tamiya, as many other company, projects all models all together so I'm not surprised if after the Mk1 Mr. Tamiya projected the Mk2 and Super Shot all together. This will explain the same rear lower arms. HP Suspension kit is an Hot Shot Hop Up as you can see in the promotional video.

Hi Rosey, I know that the Hot Shot I MK1 like mine had the arms without the protrusion. I also know that some Hot Shot I Mk2 hadn't the protrusion but other ones (the newest ones) had it just like the Super Shot. I think it depends from the releasing of the Super Shot. I suppose that, with the releasing of the Super Shot, Tamiya changed the mold of the rear arms and adopted the new arms on both cars, so also on the Hot Shot I Mk 2 still produced simultaneously with the Super Shot. Anyway the only use of this protrusion is to protect the lower aluminum damper mount from impacts. Obviously you can use the H.P. set on arms without protrusion (like Mk1 or Boomerang or Hot Shot II) but an impact with a rock on the ground can strip and bend the aluminum plate that carry the lower brass ball where the damper is linked.

Obviously mine is only a theory. Only Mr. Tamiya knows the truth about these kits.

Yeah! In true life I'm really mr. Tamiya.

Kontemax, I just spotted that the front differential gearbox is from a Mk2. Do you have an early Mk1 gearbox to correct it? Nice chassis btw.

I own the original Mk1 front gwarbox and bumper mount but obviously the front gearbox is broken so I must replace it with a Mk2 one. Have you a new Mk1 to sell?
