When I first got back into the hobby I didn't know much about vintage vs re-release etc and the first Grasshopper I did was a re-re. I think I did another one later that was a mix of mostly vintage but some re-re parts. This one however is 100% original vintage, down to the tires. It had been sitting for a couple years on my shelves without a body while I procured a new vintage body set and finally had a chance to finish it.

Recently I've been catching up a bit on my backlog of projects and was able to finish up the body. I chose Tamiya Racing White to give it a more vintage look and a bit of contrast with the white of the spotlights. This is the first Grasshopper body I've done where I managed to line up all the stripes pretty neatly.

Am happy with the result - and back it went on the shelf after these pics.

The Grasshopper will ALWAYS be one of the most beautiful R/C buggies ever made by Tamiya. Love it!

Thanks guys! I'm steadily working through my backlog, and as usual it's been very helpful for my mental health. =)

So good to see you again on here! Very nice Resto, really true vintange. Actually I never noticed, that the body is not straight on the right side, and has a bulb for the throttle servo arm. Just noticed it in pic 3 and 1. Is it the same on the Rere? Guess I have to look that up. Working on the old Tamiyas it´s like mental Yoga, isn´t it?
