The 'big' Type 2

Another build from earlier this year, again built for a friend. It's a nice kit and I think his choice of colour really works well. I like the way Tamiya have added a bit more realism with the separate bumpers, wing mirror etc, just gives it a more detailed look (though still decals for windscreen wipers!!?).
Once it was built, my friend was happy but we decided that it needed a little bit more. So I made a basic interior, complete with driver, passenger and some essential luggage!! Unfortunately the interior isn't really practical when running the car because one of the body post extensions has to be removed to fit it (otherwise the post would run through the driver!). Wish Tamiya had stayed with the horizontal body posts they used on the wheelie Type 2.
It's nice to see that Wild Willy is now such a big star that he gets chauffeur-driven to events, with appropriate reading material supplied.
Ok, enough of my nonsense, hope you like the pics.
Cheers,
Rob

Love the detail mate, Willy getting driven around by.........Willy. Love the kit boxes and the reading pose. How did you modify his hand positions to hold the mag?
IBIFTKH
Thanks Kym, kind words as always. To change the position of his hands I just cut them of at the base of his gloves and then re-attached how I wanted them. No need to modify the actual hands, which was a relief!

Excellent as always mate and Willy really is a star! I tell my wife that all the time!

Great concept, and good to see Willy being driven in the style he deserves (when he takes a well earned break from his big tyre wheelie trucks).

Looks awesome Rob! Love the mag! But err, it's missing not one, but two NOS bottles... are you ok mate? ?? Well done
IBIFTKH
Thanks guys, glad you like it.
Willy is definitely a star, surely your wife shouldn't need convincing???
Although he's enjoying being driven in style, there will always be a place in his heart for big tyre wheelie trucks (and of course, lunatic little Hondas!)
And remember, this one belongs to a friend. If one of my own builds shows up without NOS bottles, you'll know there's a problem!!
cheers all,
Rob
