Beautiful sets Justin very nice indeed. l can't believe how much effort was put into these old radio's regarding the looks and shape design as well as performance back in the day! Nice to collect for sure! Not sure many people still use these after the birth of 2.4 but can't beat the old stuff for looks and feel plus love the names that Acoms and Futaba came up with back then!
I think l have own and used all of these over the years and lots of Futaba set too! The Mk5 was special l remember loving that set. Back then the radio gear was just as famous as the cars in a way! These sets Acoms & Futaba really were stars and some Legendary now in modern day! Anyway to the point...very nice mate!
You plan collecting anyone?

Thanks James for the comment pal, I'm very much old school when it comes to controllers and although my king hauler, blazer and blackfoot 3 come with 2.4ghz controllers all my other shelf queens are acoms, I have tried to pair the age range of the controllers with the production dates of the cars for added authenticity.... hard work lol. Very proud of my collection but gutted I had recently purchased a very good boxed mk2 which has gone missing in the post.... got a refund but still sad. Do have later controllers from acoms boxed but don't really float my boat. Cheers matey

Doc007 thanks for the comment, yes was uploading really slow last night and still is so took ages to get the pictures on.... managed in the end but missed the mk5 box (will add later) glad you like them, am a bit nostalgic about old acoms. Cheers

My first radio looked a lot like the Mk3 shown here but there was no BEC in 1984. I must say I'm more a 2.4 GHz fan, cheeper, more reliable, less or no chance of interference, low battery consumption but the old radio's sure look the part. Nice collection!

Thanks tamiyastef, must admit I'm contemplating some 2.4ghz for my runners but in no rush as my runners haven't had any running for a long time lol. Yes the mk3 is the 1st edition (no BEC) but does have in the box an acoms bec adaptor not the tamiya branded version. Glad you like them pal thank you .
