I expected it to take me a very long time to find one of these, to be honest. I was browsing a local FB market page, and this came up. Certainly wasn't expecting to get one over here in NZ, that's for sure.

The price was a fair amount (at the time) but since some stuff was missing, I offered $100 less than asking. It came with the m-chassis drift tyres on 11 spoke wheels, and had a stealth mount kit fitted. For it to be original, it was missing the original rear dampers, the small battery mount , and some front body posts with both front and rear cross braces. I chased the original rear dampers through 4 people (as they got sold and sold and sold with a job lot of spares) but gave up in the end, as it looked like they were all in bits, and not all there anyway. I bought a set of #54000's and fitted those, they are pretty much the same save for the black soft springs. I found a place in the States selling two of the M-four body posts trees that come with the braces. I bought a 380 sport tuned motor, and fitted that. It came with an Eagle racing TA06 Spur mount.

I chucked on a set of new m-chassis 11 spokes, and some new 55mm slicks, with hard foams, and some lightweight kingpins (M05).
Even though the previous owner slung this around as a drifter, it's in remarkable condition. He apparently had a chassis protector sheet on it, and all the arms etc are mint.
I haven't torn it completely down yet, but plan to once I get a few more bits, (battery case, and maybe titanium screw set). Really lucky to have this in my M-chassis collection, to go with the others.

1 How it sits today... 1 How it came... 1 1 1 1

Nice find Neil especially on a local site!
Those little 380 sport tuned motors really are nippy for what they are! Look cool too!
Nice looking chassis mate and love all the belts and bling!

Thanks James! Yeah couldn't believe it. Would like to put some more hop ups, and find an appropriate body for it too.

Such a sweet chassis. Great find. I remember when they were going for a song, I picked up mine when they were cheap so I could put my Suzuki Wagon R RR body on it as it always bothered me that it came on a M03. I agree, the Sport Tuned 380 surprised me. On the race track the RM01 is more than enough fun for me running the 380ST.

I got into them when they were already hard to find. Such a strange combo with the 380 and the life battery holder, but at least you could get the servo mount and run a normal stick pack. I love it, even with all its faults.
