TRF Racing Scorcher - with TRF-tuned-Chassis
This was my little project: i alway wanted to have a Street Scorcher Racing Bug, so called 'Rennsemmel'.
Since i got a Scorcher project last year, i repaired & repainted the Scorcher body, but the chassis was not good anymore.
Why not take another chassis? i took a TA04R tuned chassis from TRF. This chassis was changed to a shortwheel base TA04 and adapted the wheelbase again.
Then i installed some Scorcher parts - it got my TRF Racing Bug.
I didn't want to make new holes for the bodypost in the Scorchers body, so that i can use this body for another Scorcher project.
This Racing Bug got wide wheels in rear and smaller in the front.
It'll be soon on the racetrack again.
please let me know what you think about this Bug?
ended up as 3rd in the model-conversion competition in March 2008

Great Stuff!!! Never thought this could fit, 'cause i didn't think of a short wheelbase TA04. This Bug looks fantastic.

Michel, very nice. The small rear view mirrors of the Calsonic Skyline (some of the bodies) would look terrific here, I guess.

Nicely done! I have been thinking of doing that with a TA0SW chassis, with the vintage HPI wheels/tires. Nice job!

Hmmh... nice . I think its time to reshell my audi tt
Michel, and all those wanting to follow your example: Parma is making a lexan shell, originally intended for the monster beetle but very close to the real thing; size wise also as far as I can tell.
It's a lot lighter for a real racer and could spare you from breaking your beloved hard shell.
Let me know if you need the link to the body on their online shop (it's pretty well hidden).
Or if you'd like to see how it fits my vintage Kyosho Ultima (truck conversion), or want the dimensions.

OLD KYOSHO
Hi Miga!!
very nice conversion, I plan to do something like that someday....
how you shortened the ta04 from 247 to 240mm? cutting the arms as in ta03?
what of both conversions was easier /has better handling? ta03 or ta04?
thank you in advance!!
jose r.
_miga_
Jose, Ta03 or Ta04 doesn't mather, both are easy to use, but for TA03 you must make a little more modifications.
Imho i like the TA03 more, because the gearing is better covered than in the TA04.
Since i didn't drive the in race mode, i can not say something about the handling.
But when you want to race them, you should go for the TA04.
