shiny is good but i wanted to make something that looked like it had been sitting in a back yard for the past ten years or something, that you may get stung or bitten if you open the doors and sit in it. i am working on an interior and hopefully will be done soon. just wanted to share what i have done so far.

Amazing work, and very refreshing. Some 'how I did it' shots would be icing on the cake!

That looks fantastic Christian, you should go find a junkyard or farm field as photo background I've always wanted to do a Beat up Rusty Beetle maybe this will inspire me!

I don't know how, but i think you have done a great and original work on the body. Cheers!

I like it ! Never seen the used look on an alfa before. Curious how you did it.

thanks all. i would love to claim that years of artistic skill and knowledge let me to this, but nothing is further from the truth. it seemed the more i screwed up, the better it looked. then i realized i was trying to make a mess, so messing up was ok. you don't know till you try!!

looks like most of the alfa romeos that i get to fix at work. great build

24-Feb-2008

great idea, you should put a little rust /and crud on the wheels to finish it off lol..

Stunning job on the paint matey! May I suggest the shut lines would look more realistic dark red rather than black? L-U-K-E summed it up best - it's a breath of fresh air!

Just like the Alfa I had a couple of years back. The red paint turned white on that too . A stunning pice of art you have on your hands. You are a true talent! Looking forward to see even more of this.

A great replica of a three year old Alfa, just ready for its first MOT and a complete rebuild

Probably one of the best paintjobs I have seen for such an alfa in a long time... Somehow they look best in red, but it's boring to make them plain red... A good alternative you have here

rusty Alfa yeah thats about right very nice job did you paint from the outside?

it is painted from the inside. i used an air brush and a paint brush. alot of people have asked about the process, so i have a cooper body that i will do soon and i will take pics of the steps i used.

very nice just like a car that has been stood a long time red paint does tend to fade when a car gets old good to see something different and original.

That is nice, a true survivor, but I am with someone else and the wheels need a bit of the three color treatment, like silver, black and rust to match the car. I even like the fact that there seems to be a thick layer of dust on the windows.

Nice car man i like the old look. Nice

Really unbelievable job on this one, I love it! All you need now is a couple of rusty old bumper bars inside poking out the window! Definately need some photos outdoors, stuck away somewhere in an old winery in Tuscany somewhere!

thanks, i have done a few this way and it is a pretty easy and effective process. just takes a little courage to take the plunge the first time, but well worth the effort.
